"Root Signals" | Original Acrylic Abstract Painting

$200.00

I created this painting by blending elements I love with the new ideas I was exploring at the time.

Organic shapes are something that can be found in a lot of my original canvas paintings. They’re something that I really enjoy creating and using as foundational elements of my abstract paintings. They always seem to start out random but develop a life of their own as the piece evolves. Circles and other rounded organic shapes are ones that I find myself particularly drawn too-so I lean into that.

Pushing and pulling colors to highlight or minimize certain areas within the painting help me to visually set a tone for the piece. With this piece in particular, I knew I wanted to grab the viewer quickly with a striking vibrant color (orange). However, I also did not want overwhelm the viewer still keep the somewhat grounded calm feel established by the background color.

Repeating lines and markings often find their way into my abstract paintings as well. I feel like they are the glue that help tie together otherwise disjointed shapes. Mark making feels intuitive, almost meditative, as the marks kind of tell ME where to put them verses me telling them where they should go.

The combination of these elements helped to create this eye popping piece of abstract art suitable for a statement piece in any home or office decorating project!
